If you have a piece of art which you'd like to be shown to thousands of gamers, drop it on over to [email protected] and we'll consider it for frontpage coverage! Applications rolling in - [11:19 PM by DarkViper]
Wow, what a large response to the announcement about positions being open. I will be compiling all applications and considering them. Please remember that the e-mail you sent is basically all that we use for considering you for the position.. so if you just simply e-mailed us saying you want to help, and not tell us anything else about yourself, there is a good chance your e-mail will be skipped (nothing personal, we are just very touchy about staff over here). Thanks all! And remember, we are still accepting submissions and will also re-consider your application if some of you decide to resend a more detailed e-mail.

Warzone2100.com Positions Available - [10:43 PM by DarkViper]
We're looking for two talented and dedicated news editors for Warzone2100.com, as well as one content creator.
Think you have what it takes? Here's a desciption for what the volunteer positions would require:
Position: News Editor
Required: At least 1 post 3 times a week. We are strict about this, but will excuse if there is a reason. Warzone2100.com is a high trafficked website, so we want to make sure we give the right people the opportunity to get their name out there, and to have some fun at the same time.
Skills: HTML is a must (not advanced, just basic links, spaces, line breaks, etc). Must know how to spell and good grammar (college grammar not necessary).
Position: Content Creator
Required: We are looking for someone to create some new sections for us at Warzone2100.com, using our design template. What are we looking for in the content? Well, anything that we don't have already, will work. If you have a cool idea for a section and want to try and pull it off, this is the job for you - but please, if it's not a realistic idea or not possible to do in a week or so, then I would suggest trying it on your own first, then bringing it to us - as we are low on time resources.
Skills: HTML is not so much required, but if you are going to be doing a section, you should know it. WYSIWYG editors are okay. Must love Warzone2100.
If you're interested in any of these positions, e-mail [email protected] and I'll get back with you as soon as possible, if you have been selected, due the high volume of e-mail I receive.

New WZ Map Utility - [6:06 PM by DarkViper]
Caton Little has created a new utlity for Warzone 2100 maps, which fishes out the names.txt and prresearch.txt files, combines the data and writes a file called tech.txt which shows all the techs and their immediate prerequisites. For example:
Ripple Rockets: Mini-Rocket Artillery, CB Tower
Tank Killer Rocket: Rocket Laser Designator, HESH Rocket Warhead
... etc.
Here's some more from Caton:It can't tell if a tech needs a building to be built before it can be researched, but other than that, it's all good.
Naturally, I don't expect you to crack open and run an executable some
stranger emailed you, so the attached zip file also contains the
sourcecode. It's totally freeware... share and enjoy!
Want to download it? Grab this utility right here.
